International collaboration

Members of the department were enrolled in an international project for elaboration of National Guideline for diagnostics and treatment of STIs, which was sponsored by WHO-Europe, International Union for Prevention of Sexual Transmitted Infections, Soros Foundation Moldova and USA Agency for International Development (project director prof. Gh. Muset, project coordinator associate prof. M.Betiu). A number of meetings for institualization and training of dermatologists, family doctors were held after the National Guidelines for Prevention of STIs had been published.

Mircea Betiu, the current head of the department, is a member of the WHO-Europe Regional Consulting Committee for Training and Research in Reproductive Health, as well as a board member of the executive committee of the Euro-Asiatic Association of Dermatovenereologists.
